Arthur Smith was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where he grew up. He proceeded westwards to The Prince of Wales School at King tom- where he was for six years until he passed his G.C.E O' Level exams with a distinction in English. He proceeded to the Albert Academy a school accomplished for the arts at the tip of Mount Aureol. Arthur Smith spent two years at the sixth form preparing to take his A level exams. During this period he became exposed to much literature at the school library. He started to regularly contribute articles and stories to local radio programs.
His later admission into the Arts faculty, Fourah Bay College, where he offered courses in English, philosophy, sociology and political science, gave him greater opportunities of harnessing his talents and meeting a wider selection of literary oriented personalities Packers pro shop. He has taught English since 1977 at Prince of Wales School and Milton Margai College of Education. He is now Senior Lecturer at Fourah Bay College where he has been lecturing various aspects of English, Literature and Creative Writing for the past eleven years.
